Enjoying an Evening Alone

Geisha Ritual Aromatic Sake Soak, Amayori

I love my husband. He is my best friend in the world and I enjoy every moment we spend together. That said, when he's traveling, I do enjoy (and even look forward to) my alone time.

Following is my ritual for an evening alone. I hope this inspires you to take some time and treat yourself next time you have the evening to yourself. I look forward to this ritual every time.

First, I make a dinner that requires little to no cleaning. I eat a very clean diet and I'm not really an "order-in" person, so I usually treat myself to an Amy's Organics rice crust pizza. The key is to keep it easy but delicious. Afterwards I'll have my favorite jasmine green tea.

Then, it's bathing ritual time with The Geisha Ritual. This fragrance nurtures the entire being. It is THE go-to fragrance when you want to connect with yourself and experience your inner strength and beauty. It is an extraordinary messenger of self-care.

Tonight I am taking a quick shower with The Geisha Ritual Aromatic Body Wash. Then, a languorous bath using the The Geisha Ritual Aromatic Sake Soak which includes a base of organic Bulgarian Lavender Hydrosol. Hydrosol bathing is an otherworldly experience. Hydrosols work on a subtle, energetic level that is highly vibrational and healing to the mind, body, and spirit. The smell of our Bulgarian lavender hydrosol is so lush and bright. It supports the bergamot, jasmine (heaven), and vetiver in The Geisha Ritual perfectly. I always linger in the bath for at least 45 minutes. Candles lit, lights off, my favorite shamisen music playing softly in the background......

When I get out of the bath I always watch Memoirs of a Geisha. I think I've seen this movie at least 100 times and it never gets old. I love that it takes me away to a place of beauty. Usually I will make it through the whole thing but sometimes I drift off to sleep.

Take advantage of your down time when you have it. Being alone is wonderful and can be a way to reset, recharge, and revive your entire being. If you have kids, enjoy time with them (this could even be turned into a very special time to bond), and then carve out time for yourself after you tuck them into bed.

It may take a bit of planing but it really is quiet easy: create a simple evening where you enjoy things that you love.

Warm wishes,

Françoise
