Deep, Meditative Relaxation

Inspired by Japan’s beloved hinoki cypress hot springs baths, Hinoki Onsen is an otherworldly gender-neutral fragrance for deep, meditative relaxation. Hinoki essential oil relaxes while geranium calms the mind and body. Refreshing, exotic jasmine sambac and red mandarin will elevate your mood and soothe your spirit, while vetiver grounds and stabilizes.

100 ml / 3.4 fl oz

Silken and mid-weight in texture, this oil envelops the skin in a nourishing blend of raw, organic, and unrefined oils, including Jojoba, Camelina, Chia Seed, and Sesame Seed, each abundant in essential fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. A touch of Sea Buckthorn Extract imparts a warm golden hue and a healthy, luminous finish.

Massage into the skin before showering to deeply nourish and protect. Add to the bath for a transformative, skin-soothing soak. Smooth over the body after bathing or showering to wrap yourself in a fragrant cocoon of moisture. Glide a few drops over the ends of the hair for added softness and shine.

Please note: This oil is intended for the body and hair, not the face.

Body Oil: After bathing or showering, place a small amount into your palms. Begin at the collarbone and shoulders, then massage into the skin, working down toward the feet.

Shower Oil: Before stepping into the shower, place a small amount into your palms and massage into the skin.

Bath Oil: Once in the bath, add your desired amount of oil. We recommend at least 10 pumps. Swish the water to disperse.

Hair Oil: Place a few drops into your palms and rub them together. Smooth over damp or dry hair, focusing on the ends.

Ritual & Inspiration

Bathing in a fragrant hinoki cypress bath in Japan can feel almost otherworldly, inviting a deeply meditative state. For an at-home hinoki bathing experience, begin with the Aromatic Body Wash, soak in the Hinoki Onsen Bath Salts, use the Misting Essence throughout, and finish with the Multi-Use Oil. The ritual can also be enjoyed in the shower by simply washing, misting, and applying the oil. These are simply suggestions. Take what works for you and make the ritual your own.

Creator's Notes

Hinoki Onsen is Amayori’s heritage fragrance and the first fragrance I created for the brand. Its story began during a once-in-a-lifetime trip I took while working in New York’s fast-paced real estate market. After closing a deal, I traveled to Tokyo and then Kyoto, where I stayed at a traditional inn in Gion and first experienced the beauty of Japanese bathing.

Everything resonated with me: the otherworldly scent of Hinoki wood, the quiet aesthetics, and the practice of showering first, then entering the bath simply to relax. It was a pivotal moment and the beginning of an incredible journey.

I hope Hinoki Onsen transports you to the beauty of Japan’s traditional baths, inspires you to experience them for yourself, and helps you create a little of that feeling in the comfort of your own home.
