Ground Yourself in the Morning

One of Japan's "Three Views", Matsushima Bay at dawn. I originally intended for this first post on grounding to be about morning meditation. Rather than that, let's step back a bit and discuss waking up in the morning. So many people are experiencing anxiety dreams due to what is going on in the world. These types of dreams can leave you feeling exhausted both physically and emotionally. Taking Care: Nurture the Body, Nurture the Soul

Think about a busy morning. There are certain things that we do without fail before beginning our day. Some of these things include brushing our teeth, taking a shower, applying face care products, etc. One of the areas that often gets put aside when we have less time is our bodies. First, I make a dinner that requires little to no cleaning. I eat a very clean diet and I'm not really an "order-in" person, so I usually treat myself to an Amy's Organics rice crust pizza. The key is to keep it easy but delicious. Afterwards I'll have my...

Zen Morning Spa Water

I love making spa water and am always trying new things. Recently, I came up with a version using many of the ingredients that are used in Amayori’s Zen Morning fragrance. Blood oranges won’t be in season for much longer but you can always leave these out or use regular oranges. When making spa water, try to buy organic as the peels are soaking in your water should be pesticide free. If you can’t find organic, just shave off as much of the peel as you can. In the photo, I used a 32 fl oz. pitcher. You can also use a much larger one, up to 64 oz. Since the fruit is soaking, it has the ability to flavor...
