The Maker

For over 70 years the artisans at the Takada Brush company have been making brushes by hand from the carefully selected fibers of the windmill palm cultivated in Wakayama prefecture. No pesticides or disinfectants are used, and each brush is a testament to the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.

The Ritual

Brush the skin in a graceful sweeping manner beginning at the feet and making your way towards the heart. Don’t forget about the back, arms, underarms, and the tops of the hands.

Care

Shedding may occur during the first few uses. This is normal and will lessen over time. Prior to the first use, gently wash the bristles using a mild body wash and hang to dry.

Wash with a mild body wash and hang dry every few months. Do not leave in direct sunlight, as this may cause the wood handle to crack.
