How to Become a Bath Person

How to Take the Perfect Bath

I have heard women say, “I’m not a bath person.” When you get to the heart of why, the idea of taking a bath seems overwhelming and time consuming. It need not be. You can have an ultra-relaxing experience that exceeds any spa treatment within an hour – all in the comfort, convenience, and privacy of your own home.

Here are some easy tips that can help you take the concept of bathing from daunting to doable.

Set Aside One Hour a Week: Don’t wait for the perfect time – that rarely happens. Plan your bathing ritual as you would a gym session, yoga class etc. If you have kids, ask your husband to take them out for an hour if need be. Block out an hour well in advance and stick with it. Plan around it – make an easy dinner, better yet, order in or get take out. Keep it simple so that you can focus on yourself for one hour each week.

Create a Sanctuary: Make the bathroom a place that you look forward to spending time. Perhaps bring in a fresh vase of flowers (or even artificial ones). Hang a nice picture up that relaxes you. Have towels, a bath mat, and a shower curtain that you love. This doesn’t have to be over the top – personally, I love white bath accessories and a hinoki wood bathmat. Keep it clean, simple, and uplifting.

Find a Fragrance that Excites You: Whenever people start using Amayori’s Luxury Bath Salts and aren’t sure which ones to choose, I suggest the Variety Set. Not only does it give you five options of fragrances, but it allows you to pick one based on the mood you would like to manifest. Find a fragrance that you look forward to using. Let your time with this be your motivation.

Incorporate Music: I am so excited to tell you that I am in the process of putting playlists together that go with each of Amayori’s Aromatic Experiences. I will keep you posted on this of course, but for now, pick music that makes you feel calm and relaxed. You can even try nature sounds. Ocean waves are incredible in the summer, especially if you wish you were at the beach.

Candlelight: Candlelight is an easy mood changer. If you are using fragranced bath products I always suggest using a fragrance-free candle so as not to overwhelm yourself. But do whatever feels right for you. Shut of the lights.

Leave the Phone Behind: This seems obvious but sometimes it’s hard. Especially if your work revolves around your phone. Don’t do it. Leave it behind. Let it go and enjoy the break.

Keep the Benefits in Mind: Bathing has so many benefits. Aside from stress-relief and emotional balance, a bath burns calories, is detoxifying, is good for the muscles, blood flow, and is excellent for the skin. A bath is a full body treatment – I can’t think of much else that is!

Remember How It Makes You Feel: When you feel a bath is a lot of effort, remind yourself on how amazing and relaxed you feel while you are soaking in one, and after one. Forget about the effort or time it takes. The time will pass anyway.

If you incorporate one bath a week into your life I can almost promise that you will become a bathing convert. One of the main pillars of Amayori is to empower women to learn how to relax at home. You can have an even more relaxing experience of a spa in the comfort of your own house. It’s all about the details and making your ritual special.

Make your bathing ritual yours. Make it relaxing, fun, exotic – whatever gets you into the bath. And if you need help choosing products for your ritual, don’t hesitate to email or call us.

 Enjoy!

Warm wishes,
